Any suggestions on how to find someone to write music for my songs?

I have been a writer for newspapers, magazines and poetry for many years, but want to get into writing songs. I have over a dozen songs already, but am not a musician and need someone to put the music to them. How do I find someone to do this and not rip me off?

Can you be a singer and not know how to write songs?

i want to be a singer but im not really good at writing songs...i know how to sing and perform really well but when it comes to writing songs i just CANT do it...i heard that singers can hire other people to write there songs but i dont know where i can find somebody who wants to write a song for me. and how much would i have to pay them? i really want to being a singer is something that i dream about almost every danm day.

How can I write my own songs?

I have real trouble writing songs. When I come up with a really good idea in my head, I try adding more to it and it turns out sounding really weird, with no chourus or versuses or anything! More of just several lines pushed together in a piece of poetry or something. Any tips on how to write good songs?
