Hi,

Hi,
I would like to learn how to play violin while I am here in London (for a year and a half). Does anyone knows an academy or school that offers reasonable cost for classes? Thanx
im learning the violin and need some inspiration
I have always wanted to learn to play the piano but have , until now, been unable to afford the lessons. I can't even read music though. Do you think it is even worth the effort. I am also interested in the violin. Does anyone know how difficult learning it would be?
I know the instruments aren't the same, but still.
I know that violin's aren't fretted, but if you play higher notes on the guitar, you have to be precise to, the frets get a lot closer together higher up the neck.
So, I can already play the drums, and some of the guitar. I want to learn how to play either the violin or piano. I heard learning the piano is very boring. I want to learn both, but I would want to learn the easiest one first, and then learn the harder one. Which one was easier for you?
You see I really want to learn the violin. But some people say that it's a difficult instrument to play and I can't play it.I don't even know the basics of music. Some people have said instead I should learn the piano to make me 'comfortable' with the notes and my fingers. What do you think I should do?Should I learn the violin or the Piano first?
And I love the piano also but I like the violin a bit more. So,I am even more confused.
ive also played guitar for a year in highschool and that was pretty easy for me.
im wondering how long it usually takes to learn simple songs like themes songs (cleanly played)
or you can give your opinion on which is more difficult between piano/guitar/violin
thanks!
I have years of experience with the piano and violin, and I can read music. If you can, please also describe the playing techniques of each instrument as well. Thanks!
Oh, and if you say they're all just as easy, then which one should I learn first?
Forgot to mention this!!! For whatever instrument I choose, it will be self taught, using workbooks and online sources.
Are Suzuki Books for violin better or worse than other methods? Is the Suzuki Method harder or easier than other popular teaching methods in violin?
Are there etudes and etude studies in the Suzuki Method? What books do they appear in? How about octaves? Arpeggios???
I was wondering if anyone knew a good book or online resource to learn some techniques for playing violin in the style of Balkan/Eastern European/Gypsy folk music (A Hawk and a Hacksaw/ Black Ox Orkestar/ Beirut kind of stuff), in particular in terms of improvisation and solos. I've done some searching on Amazon, but all I can find is music for beginners, and I'm around grade 6/7 standard. Cheers in advance, Jono.
