Any suggestions on how to find someone to write music for my songs?

I have been a writer for newspapers, magazines and poetry for many years, but want to get into writing songs. I have over a dozen songs already, but am not a musician and need someone to put the music to them. How do I find someone to do this and not rip me off?

Im in a band and know how to write poems but not songs. What do I do?

Okay I write alot of poetry and im good at it, but i dont knwo how to write song lyrics. Me and my friend just started a band and she said if I know hoe to write poetry I should be able to write songs, but I dont I suck at it and I want to be able to write songs for the band.

How do/can you start? I'm sitting here with my guitar strumming out random chords. I just can't tie them together, and I can't write poetry for my life, especially to music! How do you do it?

How to stay motivated to write?

I used write songs/poetry like everyday, and I really enjoyed it and I was glad to say it was something that I do. For about a year I just totally stopped but just recently i started writing again. The problem is when I write I find myself asking what's the point? The songs will never be put to music, the poems will never be read, and what I write will never mean anything to anyone but myself. It seems as though whether I write or not will virtually have no difference, so basically writing is just a waste of time.
Any thoughts?

How can I write my own songs?

I have real trouble writing songs. When I come up with a really good idea in my head, I try adding more to it and it turns out sounding really weird, with no chourus or versuses or anything! More of just several lines pushed together in a piece of poetry or something. Any tips on how to write good songs?

How do you become a writer & what is a writer?

I like to write allot, well I'm very interested in it. But I don't necessarily know what a writer is or does. I love poetry & I want to be able to broaden my mind more but I don't no how, can anybody help me?
I just need you to answer a few of these questions for me thanks:
What is a writer?
Do you need to be good at english to be a good poet & writer?
What broadens your mind & imagination towards poetry, songwriting & writing?
How do you become a writer or a poet?
What certain books should you read & how do you go about it?
Is reading a very important factor in poetry & writing & if so what kind of books are the best?
Is writing & poetry a job & if so what qualifications do you need to become a poet or a writer?
I hope you can help me please. I just want to be able to have a good imagination. I am only starting to read books & poetry & I'm 17. The only book I have read is the boy in the striped pajamas & there was a few words I didn't understand. I am very keen though to put allot of effort in learning & reading but I just don't know how to go about it. Can anybody help me start off please & is there any easy way to learn new words & to get intelligent because I never listened in school. Thanks?
Yes you are correct I do have a lack of knowledge, but what does a writer, actually do & write about? Please I am simple minded but all I want is to learn. Thanks.

What do you think of my poem?

So, I wrote a poem and i was wondering what you all think. This is my first poem. Any advice on songwriting or poetry would be nice. (especially songwriting) Constructive critisism would be great. Okay here it goes,
Seriously, does anyone care
like is so freakin' unfair
you suck at everything you do
you really think there is no use
what's the point in livin'
when you feel so alone
you don't do anything
except talk on the phone
you ignore half your calls
because you don't like the people
your a hippocritte and you know it
it makes you feel so small, weak, and feeble
your full of self pity
but you know it is wrong
because there are so many people worse off than you
but you, you don't even have a clue
of what's wrong in the world
unless it has something to do with you
you know that it's wrong
you know it's not right
but hey what can you do
you say that you care
the world says you don't
so get off your butt
'cause they sure as heck won't
you said your a hippocritte at least you can admit it
but hey that's only the first step
now if you keep workin' hard
and don't give up
then you will be okay
thingfs will work out one way
or another
you'll never know
until it's over
but things always turn out good in the end
you'll trust other people
you'll care about them
you'll all get along
just trust in God and things will be great
all you gotta do
is learn how to wait

I dress in black, love gigs love metal, write songs and play guitar does that mean i am emo?

Hi my name is fiona, i recently moved and i have become more intrested into metal and wearing black. I love going to gigs and band nights and i wear lots of eyeliner and have converses. In my spear time i write songs and poetry and i alo play the guitar. Do all these things make me emo?

songwriting like Tori AMos or Sarah Mchlaclan? Are their any free websites?

I was wondering if their are any instructional websites on writing songs...maybe even poems? I love the styles of Tori Amos and Sarah Mchlaclan. I know I can't write like them but it would be great to get started

I need a website or two thats all about basic songwriting

And then maybe one that goes in depth on skills like they have.
Them seem to be able to use all sorts of metaphors and allusions, and its abstract like poetry. This, when their not full on telling you a story. I really want to learn to write lyrics

So if you know any websites or books like these please let me know!!
