Should I start with the Violin or the Piano?

I'm quite musical and I really enjoy listening to both... I already play the Harmonium (http://www.shamanshop.net/store/images/images_SH/SH_HMMC.jpg) and I have done so for nearly 10 years now.

I'm really eager to learn how to play the Violin (or Viola) and the Piano despite not knowing how to read music...

Which one shall I start learning 1st?

Thanks!

I want to learn to play the violin?

I am disabled, I suffered a brain haemorrhage in 1994 and survived it thanks to my dear wife. I also suffered 16 mini strokes, asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, ostio athritis, depression, kidney failure etc etc etc. Throughout my life I wanted to learn how to play the violin, I cannot read music as my stroke upsets my concentration but I am good at learning as I self taught myself to play the accordian, which I had to sell as I have nerve damage to my hands and fingers I kept on missing the buttons etc.
I have been loaned a violin and a starter book but I cannot make head nor tail out of it as it is not for the actual real beginner.
I am looking for someone who could give me the basics on how to tune it and yhe bow, and where the notes are, once someone tells me a few things I usually pick it up.
Please would someone help me, prefferably by sending me info via the net so I can print it off on my printer.
I live in Essex Uk

How hard is it to learn the violin? How long does it take to learn like the basics and stuff?

I'm 16 and I have lots of experience with the piano (about 9 years) and i've had vocal lessons. I also can play the flute a little. Not as good as piano though because I only took 1 year of lessons. My strength is sight reading; i'm really good at it. Anyway, i want to learn how to play the violin. Is it going to be really hard even with all of the music experience that i have?

Should I learn the violin now?

Okay, well since it's summer, I was planning to learn how to play the violin, but I think I should wait until the next (fall) term so I could take Music theory 1 before I start. Because I play guitar now, but I can only read tabs, and like very basic sheet music (very slowly..) So I'm asking if I should wait until I have a better understanding of music then pick up the violin or should I just start now?

Oh, also, I'm planning to get a silent violin.. Is there any difference in between the silent ones and the normal ones (other than the fact that one's acoustic and ones electric)? And what size violin would you recommend for me..? (5'9, male, 18 years old ^^)

How hard will it be to learn Violin now?

I've wanted to learn how to play the violin for as long as I can remember, but haven't come across one, and I used to travel a LOT. Now I'm 16, and I've just inherited a violin! What I want to know is: how hard will it be to learn to play the violin? How complex is it anyways? Compared to other instruments I mean. Thanks for your answers!
